BEACH FRONT PROPERTY!

This is the flood at my parents house in Nauvoo. The waters have risen up over the road. You can see where the road was at the top of the picture. The water is now right up to the shop. The road is completely covered and... well, the pictures say it all. They're sandbagging this morning with notice the river is supposed to go up another two feet. YIKES - I HOPE THEY DON'T FLOAT AWAY! The first picture was taken from the upstairs balcony.

(KSL News) Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are working to protect historic sites in Nauvoo, Ill., from rising floods.

The Deseret News reports sandbags have been placed around several structures, including the Nauvoo House that was once owned by Church founder Joseph Smith.

Those who helped in the effort to secure the sites included people working for Nauvoo Restoration Incorporated, missionaries serving in Nauvoo, and members of the BYU Folk Dancers.

That is unbelievable! Please let us know what we can do to help (short for flying out to help with sandbags). We will pray for you!

Thanks Adrianne for the article. I was wondering if the old town was flooding.
