The Jemmett Eye....
While staying with my Dad Tuesday evening, I learned something about him I didn't know. George Jemmett's daughter, Lorna Anderson who is Steven's age, dropped in to see Dad and told me this story about when she was just a little kid, probably only 18 months old. Millie brought her kids to visits at our old place in Blackfoot. My Dad was working at the Bingham County Co-op and usually came home for lunch and this day he left right on time. Well, he drove home, turned in at our place, drove over the old wooden bridge across the large canal and then over the smaller irrigration ditch. He noticed a dark patch in the water and after parking went back to see if it was a muskrat. He reached into the water, grabbed hold of what he thought was fur and pulled out Lorna. Mom and Millie had lost track of her and she had fallen into the ditch. He pounded on her back and got her breathing again. She is still mighty grateful! We tease Dad about the Jemmett eye, but this time it was nothing short of a miracle that he saw the bit of hair sticking out of the water.

By the Way this picture is of the men who worked with Grandpa Jemmett at the Co-op. Henry at the far right leanning on the tire. He is the one with his eyes closed.
