Our Poinsetta Christmas Bush

At a recent RS Enrichment night our RS President's husband, Durell Nelsen, was assembling a wonderful table, with an elegant tree branches hung with his very own German cutouts. I was so impressed with his new fangled tree that I determined that a green fir tree was just not going to visit our house this year. He told me that the first documented Christmas tree in this area was in 1832 and was a few local tree branches hung with cookies. The German people still use this tree and call it the Sugar Tree, decorated with sweets for all. Cal pruned the plum tree, stuffed some branches in a large crock, filled with sand from our Mississippi beach. Well, what we ended up with bares little resemblence to the Nelson's but we rather like it. Everyone, please have a WONDERFUL HAPPY CHRISTMAS and A SAFE AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.

I love it! The tree is my favorite holiday decoration. Thanks for the history, too.

Wow!! I love your tree, also. And dear sister, I sure love you with all our wonderful family. I'm thankful for this important holiday, the birth of our Savior.
Merry Christmas!
